“The Importance of Chalk Streams: A Journey of Human Impact on the River Wensum”
Within this book, I have aimed to connect readers to the landscape through both my storytelling and illustrations. This book highlights not only the beauty of this vital chalk stream, but also its fragility and the damage that human impact is having on the river Wensum in Norfolk. However, the book has also grown to become an even bigger protest about the damaging effects that humankind is having on our chalk streams in general. It highlights the fragility of nature in all its forms around the river, from individual species to declining habitats. Combining the beauty of this natural river with the urgency of the situation of human impact this book, and its illustrations, explores and amplifies the enchantment of this river whilst highlighting the importance of protecting it.
